UNIMORE presented CoBRAIN Project at SMT35 Conference

Hamburg, Germany – September 22, 2023

The CoBRAIN Project, represented by its coordinator UNIMORE, seized a remarkable opportunity to showcase its mission and objectives during the 35th Conference on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT35) held in Hamburg, Germany, from September 18th to 22nd, 2023. The conference focuses on a broad range of topics encompassing industrial materials such as metals, alloys, polymers, ceramics, composites, and advanced materials, along with emerging processes employed in specific applications. This conference serves as a unifying platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including users, producers, engineers, and scientists, all sharing a common interest in various aspects of material behavior. The primary aim is to foster and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise across different communities engaged in the utilisation, enhancement, innovation, evaluation, and implementation of both fundamental and practical aspects of materials science. Furthermore, the conference featured in-depth discussions and presentations on the latest advancements in surface modification technologies and their industrial applications.

At this prestigious international gathering, the CoBRAIN Project aimed to spread awareness about its pioneering work in the development of sustainable wear and corrosion-resistant coatings through the application of cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning and High Entropy Alloys.

One of the highlights of the event was the poster presentation titled “CoBRAIN Project: Developing Sustainable Wear and Corrosion-Resistant Coatings through Machine Learning and High Entropy Alloys.” This presentation, delivered by Mr. Lorenzo Ferrari (UNIMORE), received widespread acclaim for its innovative approach and potential impact on the field.

In addition to the poster presentation, Mr. Lorenzo Ferrari took the stage for an engaging oral presentation, capturing the attention of a diverse audience during the Young Scientist Session. His presentation highlighted the CoBRAIN Project’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of thermal spray, coatings, sustainability, and engineering.

The CoBRAIN Project’s active participation in the SMT35 Conference underscores its dedication to advancing the frontiers of surface modification technologies. Through these efforts, CoBRAIN continues to make significant strides in its mission to create sustainable and advanced coatings that address critical industrial challenges.

Stay tuned for further updates and developments as CoBRAIN Project continues to pave the way for a more sustainable and innovative future in materials science and engineering.

CoBRAIN project has officially launched!

On 24th – 25th of January EXELISIS participated in the hybrid kick-off meeting, of the CoBRAIN project, hosted by UNIMORE in Modena of Italy. CoBRAIN is a HorizonEU project funded by the EU under the topic Advanced materials modelling and characterisation.

EXELISIS is leading activities related to IPR Management and Dissemination & Communication activities under WP7, which were presented along with some guidelines for a successful D&C strategy.
