CoBRAIN at SICT 2025 – Showcasing Sustainable Innovation in Coating Technologies

CoBRAIN proudly participated in the Smart and Innovative Coating Technologies Conference (SICT 2025), held in Albufeira (Algarve Region, Portugal) from 23 to 25 April 2025. This international forum brought together researchers, technologists, and industry professionals to explore emerging trends and solutions in surface engineering and advanced coatings.
Our project was represented by Prof. Sergi Dosta (University of Barcelona), who delivered a keynote presentation highlighting CoBRAIN’s experimental progress and breakthroughs in thermal spray coating technologies. Dr. Apostolos Parlamas (EXELISIS) also attended, engaging with stakeholders and showcasing CoBRAIN’s approach to sustainability, digitalisation, and the development of wear- and corrosion-resistant materials.
In addition, Prof. Dosta presented CoBRAIN at the FreeMe Project Workshop on safe and sustainable coatings, which took place within the SICT 2025 programme.
Participation in SICT 2025 underscores CoBRAIN’s commitment to advancing state-of-the-art material science and fostering collaboration for a more sustainable future in coatings technology.
CoBRAIN project has officially launched!
On 24th – 25th of January EXELISIS participated in the hybrid kick-off meeting, of the CoBRAIN project, hosted by UNIMORE in Modena of Italy. CoBRAIN is a HorizonEU project funded by the EU under the topic Advanced materials modelling and characterisation.
EXELISIS is leading activities related to IPR Management and Dissemination & Communication activities under WP7, which were presented along with some guidelines for a successful D&C strategy.
