Università degli studi Roma TRE Represents CoBRAIN at INSTM Conference
- June 12, 2024
CoBRAIN is pleased to announce the participation of our esteemed partner, Dr. Giulia Gigante from UR3, at the 14th National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) Conference, taking place in Cagliari, Italy, from June 9th to 12th.
The INSTM Conference is a prominent event in the field of materials science and technology in Italy, bringing together subject matter experts, researchers, and industry professionals to share insights and advancements in the field. Dr. Giulia Gigante represented CoBRAIN at this esteemed conference, where she showcased the advanced characterisation techniques adopted in Work Package 3 (WP3) (UR3 leads WP3) of the CoBRAIN project. In more detail, she presented the research on nanomechanical mapping and localised fracture toughness characterisation of high-entropy alloys AlCrFeMnNi. These studies aim to replace cobalt-containing CANTOR alloys in thermo-sprayed coatings, aligning with the COBRAIN project’s goal of identifying cobalt-free compositions that maintain high mechanical performance.
During her presentation, Dr. Giulia Gigante highlighted the reliability and future potential of these advanced characterisation techniques, underscoring their importance in advancing materials science research and development. Her participation in the INSTM Conference provides an invaluable opportunity to disseminate the latest innovations from the CoBRAIN project and to engage with fellow researchers and industry stakeholders.

CoBRAIN project has officially launched!
On 24th – 25th of January EXELISIS participated in the hybrid kick-off meeting, of the CoBRAIN project, hosted by UNIMORE in Modena of Italy. CoBRAIN is a HorizonEU project funded by the EU under the topic Advanced materials modelling and characterisation.
EXELISIS is leading activities related to IPR Management and Dissemination & Communication activities under WP7, which were presented along with some guidelines for a successful D&C strategy.
